Tim's new hobby...
Lately I've been feeling I needed a creative outlet. This all started after I volunteered myself for a project at work. The project turned into a 10 ft mural! Long story and many hours later I was actually quite pleased with the result. Especially since this was my first time painting! :-) I'll see if I can get a pic with my phone. Ok, so back to the new hobby... here's the highlights as to not bore you to death... saw a new toy at the Log Home Show... it's a pnuematice high speed engraver (aka: wicked fast (420,000 rpm) cool knew toy)... toy was very expensive... waited for months saving up the money... got the money up... tenant called, the furnace broke... called furnace guy... paid $1,400 to furnace guy... no more toy for Timmy! Waited a few more months, did some internet research... found similar toy for 20% the money... said yippe and but said new toy! :-) This tool can engrave almost any surface. (glass, metal, wood, egg shells, etc, etc) The pictures below is of a dried gourd I carved and then painted. this is only about the 4th piece I have experimented with. I was quite pleased. The goal is to be able to sell my art and have a paying hobby. The gourds are only $1 each and there is an endless supply out here in the sticks! LOL I think I may put my next one on E-Bay just to see what I could get for one. Feel free to leave coments with any feedback or ideas of other scenes or items to engrave.
